Get Some Berries in Your Belly

There are so many good reasons to eat more berries, not the least that they taste delicious and fit just about every dietary regime!  While summer is traditionally the time for fresh blueberries, strawberries, blackberries & mulberries, in our warmer climates up north there are often fresh berries available for at least 6 months of the year.  Frozen berries are also a nutritious option as they usually have no additives.  Always choose certified organic berries as regular berries are almost always sprayed with synthetic & potentially toxic chemicals.

As their rich colours reveal, berries are packed with antioxidants like vitamin C, polyphenols, and flavonoids, which can help reduce the risk of a host of diseases including heart disease, cancer,  and diabetes and improve gut health, weight management, cognitive function and skin health. 

Perfect as a snack on their own or with coconut or regular yoghurt, they are of course delicious in muffins, cakes & salads.

Our gluten free Blueberry & Lemon loaf is one of our favourites and works well with fresh or frozen organic blueberries.
