Botanical Wellness

The effectiveness of nature’s pharmacy (or farmacy) never ceases to amaze me.

In our home, organic fruit & vegetables, bone broth, fresh and dried herbs, spices, roots & mushrooms are always the first stop for prevention of and cure from illness. Did you know that turmeric, found in most kitchens, can help modulate our immune system and has been shown by numerous studies to have comparable effects to over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen, but without the unwanted side effects. Ginger is another potent remedy, which has been found to be as effective as certain pharmaceutical drugs in reducing nausea and vomiting, especially in cases related to pregnancy and chemotherapy. The flowering plant echinacea is used to fight infections and boost the immune system, and it has been shown to be effective in reducing the duration of common colds.

The list of natural remedies goes on and on. So, when flu season comes around, we head for the garden and the kitchen and get stuck into antioxidant rich berries, citrus fruit, fresh greens and other immune boosting foods, herbal supplements, like our Immunity Elixir and botanical teas like our Wellness tea to keep our immune system primed to protect. Household demand for our Coconut Immunity Slice dramatically increases too.
